One thing that I like that the AMERICAN FORK C WINTER GUARD does, is they let every girl have a chance to be the Captains.  Three different girls come to line up each week.  Here are this weeks Captains with the plaque showing they received

2 -2 Northridge Competition

Our first competition of the season was at Northridge High School in Layton.  We had a fun bus ride there and right away got started on preparing for the show.  Stretching and warm up, spinning in the warm up room and all too soon we were outside the dorr waiting for our turn to go in.  The doors opened and in we went, setting equipment and taking our starting spot.  The music started and we began.

We had a GREAT first show.  We will continue to practice, dance, spin and next time we will be even better.

I look forward to seeing you next time at Westlake High School on February 16.

Hey, girls, I lost the SD Memory Card holding the video of your show.  If any of your parents filmed it and could get me a copy we will put it on here.
Thanks, Holly

The First TIme . . .

We have practiced, we have learned to spin a flag.  We've learned some dance moves and now it is time to put it all together for the first time.

The 2013 Winter Guard season is here and it starts with the Evualation show.  This year it was held at Mountain Ridge Junior High, just up the street, no bus ride, no being there for the whole day.  It was perfect we could do other things, show up at the school, do our show and continue with the day.  Perfect for being at our best.

Looking forward to seeing it again in two weeks.

Cancelled Parent Meeting.

Hello Parents,

It seems that this year has certainly served up some bumps in our guard program. I first want to thank you all for your continued support.

I have decided to cancel the parent meeting for tonight. Below are the things we were going to discuss, and the reason as to why I am canceling the meeting.

If you did not receive a packet at auditions, I will be emailing them out by tonight. This packet includes rehearsal times and competition dates.

Also, at the bottom of this email is a list of all the blogs. Please keep track of the blog weekly for information regarding your students team. The B & Wasatch Academy blog is going through a few changes, but should be finished by tomorrow.

Ok - here are the items that were to be discussed tonight:
Payment for B Guard and Wasatch Academy
We have been working through this change for 3 weeks. As of this morning, nothing has been resolved. We are no longer able to take money at the high school for anyone who is not 9th-12th grades. So, we have been working with the junior high and the district to get this worked out. Still a work in progress. I am sorry we don't have more answers for you. Please be patient with me and I hope to have a resolution by the end of this week.

Tour for A And Open Guards
We were finally approved the day before the Thanksgiving break to go on our trip. However, the San Diego Regional was full by that time. I am looking into other options as well as trying to get more information from WGI about this regional. But, there is a waiting list right now. I have made the decision not to put our name on this waiting list. We would have to pay the $400 - which is non refundable - and most likely not get into the competition.
Again, I am looking into a few other options. But this is all the information I have at this time.

I am so appreciative of all the parents for your love and support. It has been a rough year for me. I have hit a lot of obstacles that I wasn't expecting and I am so thankful to work with the parents and staff that I do. THANK  YOU!!

Sincerely,
Tiffany Miller
